The Forest that Erases Time

 Deep in the heart of Transylvania, Romania, there is a dense patch of woodland that scientists refuse to visit alone. It is called the Hoia-Baciu Forest, but the locals simply call it the "Bermuda Triangle of Europe."

The trees themselves look like something out of a nightmare. Instead of growing straight up toward the sun, the trunks are violently twisted and warped into strange, skeletal spirals, all bending in the exact same clockwise direction. Biologists have taken soil samples and analyzed the genetics of the plants, but they cannot find any physical reason why the trees refuse to grow normally.

But the physical distortion is nothing compared to what happens to the people who walk inside.

In the summer of 1970, a five-year-old girl wandered away from her parents near the edge of the woods and vanished into the thick fog. A massive search party of hundreds of locals and police officers scoured the forest for days, but they found absolutely nothing.

Five years later, a young girl walked out of the forest and onto a nearby country road. It was the exact same girl.

She was wearing the exact same clothes she had vanished in, and they weren’t even dirty. But the truly terrifying part was her mind. She had no idea that any time had passed. She thought she had only been gone for five minutes, and she still possessed the mind and body of a five-year-old child. To this day, medical experts cannot explain where she was, or how her biological clock was completely paused for half a decade.
